The suits can probably claim mucho expensiacs that were not available under the previous (friendlies) set-up.
Performance related pay for all - even those that don't actually have to do anything other then just turn up somewhere for a few days. What can be wrong with that?

If a team can qualify through the normal process why bother with the Nations league.
National managers will be happy to have more competitive games. Club managers the opposite

That gives an incentive to slip into the bottom group.
Could be a strategy Scotland could look at?

Have always said friendlies should disappear completely apart from in the month before a tournament. I understand England play Spain in a competitive game and then play another friendly next week. UNNECESSARY

I see the benefits of it. At least it reduces poxy friendlies and makes international matches outside of majors much more competitive.
It also gives lesser nations a bit more of a chance.

As I understand it the top group play for a trophy and there is a Euro 2020 place for the winner of each of the other groups. Definitely a positive for the bottom group as one of these 16(?) who normally have no chance of qualifying will be at the finals.

I hate to say, but I don’t really understand it and have kind of excepted that as I can’t be bothered. I am sure most will disagree, but I have done well in the education system and may be consided as intelligent

Definitely worth it to add some spice competitively ... and good for emerging countries (Luxembourg for example, fast improving) but I still don't get the link to the Euros ....am I being thick?

I agree, I'd rather this than endless pointless friendlies.

Although it seems quite complicated, I am in favour for three reasons.
1- Less friendlies 2- England will play meaningful opposition which can only help 3- Instead of being thrased by 7-8 goals against world class teams (no I don't mean England) who they shouldn't be playing, minnows like San Marino will have a fair competition

it's uefa flexing their muscles at fifa and at the expense of club football and its fans. there should be less international football, not more

The groups are graded so teams of similar standard are together. Surely it’s good for England to play challenging teams.
